Arizona Mystery Writers invite you to attend our January 14th meeting.
Morning Speaker:
AMW member Jan Holmes Frost (Ascher) is an author and artist who has taught fiction workshops in California, Texas, Arizona and Colorado. Today she is a Freelance Editor and Acquisitions Editor for Fireship Press of Tucson, AZ. Her latest book, Eight Things You Need to Know to Write a Novel, is available at Amazon.com. Jan’s topic is, Make Your First 100 Words Sell Your Book.
Afternoon Workshop:
Author, Writer, and Bookseller Kris Neri teaches writing online for the Writers’ Program of UCLA Extension and is co-owner of the Well Red Coyote bookstore in Sedona. Her work includes the Lefty Award-nominated, Magical Mystery, High Crimes On The Magical Plane, and Magical Alienation, featuring a fake psychic who teams up with a Celtic goddess FBI agent. Kris will advise us on how to inject the paranormal into our mysteries, the urban fantasy genre, and what you can and cannot do in a publishable cross-genre manuscript.
Reservations:
Join us, the second Saturday of each month, September through May, at El Parador Restaurant 2744 East Broadway Blvd. (East of Tucson Blvd), 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for fascinating and informative speakers on all aspects of writing mystery, thrillers, and suspense. $20 non-members and walk-ins includes lunch; $14 RSVP’d members. $10 for one session, morning or afternoon, no lunch. No credit cards please.
Reservation and menu choice by noon Wednesday before the meeting.
